Travel scholarship from 9 to 13 March 2026
Win a scholarship to travel to Florence (Italy) in March 2026!
What can you expect?
This scholarship is part of the European research project TOUR&RAIL, and the aim is to visit the Università degli Studi di Firenze, which will be linked to field trips and meetings with students from other universities in France, Spain, and Portugal.
For five days, you and other international students will be able to apply the learn-by-doing approach and work on a learning-based project in a unique opportunity to learn about mobility, tourism and territory… as a field work!
When do I Leave?
The trip will begin on 9 March and end on 13 March 2026, and accommodation, meals and transport costs are covered, except for UNIFI students, who will only have their transport and meal costs covered.
How do I apply?
You must send your CV, a letter of motivation and proof of enrolment before 5 December to the appropriate email address for your university:
Université Gustave Eiffel: nacima.baron@enpc.fr
Università degli Studi di Firenze*: andrea.rindi@unifi.it / enrico.meli@unifi.it
Universidade de Evora: jmrojas@uevora.pt
Universidad Complutense de Madrid: caschmitz@ucm.es
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid: clara.zamorano@upm.es / anabelen.berrocal@upm.es
Remember that it is important to have GIS knowledge and a C1 level of English is required.
All right but... who is in charge of this?
You will be part of the TOUR&RAIL project, which investigates how regional railways can play a key role in the decarbonisation of transport, responsible tourism and the revitalisation of rural communities.
We want to demonstrate the tourism potential of low-traffic lines and how their conversion can become an opportunity for sustainable development.
I CAN'T WAIT! WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF I HAVE BEEN AWARDED THE SCHOLARSHIP?
Each institution will decide on the scholarships and inform you when they have done so, but don’t worry, you will know before the end of the year whether you can make plans.
*Remember that if you are a UNIFI student, only food and transport expenses will be covered while we are doing activities.
This activity is cofunded by EU and EELISA.
