On September 25, 2026, the Tour and Rail project event titled “Railways with a Future: Governance Models for Rural Revitalisation” will take place. The in-person session will be held at the Universidade de Évora in Portugal, specifically in Room 131 of the Auditório do Colégio do Espírito Santo (CES).

The session will kick off at 10:00 AM with a welcome act, featuring the official presentation of the Handbook of Governance Models (Tour&Rail).
At 10:30 AM, attendees will be able to join a round-table focused on discussing the key elements for the revitalisation of rural areas in Europe. This panel will feature the following guest speakers:

After a short coffee break at 11:30 AM, the agenda will continue at 12:00 PM with a presentation dedicated to “The story of the Douro Railway Line”, delivered by Alberto Aroso from Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP).
To wrap up, a Q&A session will open at 12:30 PM to interact with the experts, followed by closing remarks and a group picture taking at 12:50 PM. The event will officially adjourn at 1:00 PM.
