This dissemination conference, organised within the framework of the Tour&Rail project, examines how rail services can generate economic, social, and environmental value in European rural areas with high tourism appeal, despite relatively low passenger demand.
The event brings together policymakers, researchers, and sector stakeholders to highlight the role of rail in sustainable tourism, territorial cohesion, accessibility, and local development. It includes presentations, project findings, and discussions on best practices and future strategies.
Held at the Palazzo Nonfinito in Florence, the conference aims to foster collaboration towards a more inclusive and value-driven European railway system.
